  • An adjustable, precision beamsplitter( for serious holography and interferometry.
  • Internal wave plate and cube beamsplitter divide an incoming polarized laser beam into S and P component beams.
  • Rotate the entry and exit ports to fine-tune output to ANY combinatic of polarization type and intensity.
  • Uses 10 mm polarizing beamsplitte cube and three 10 mm dia. 1/2 wave plates.
  • Mounts on standard 1/4-20 posts.
  • Removable top plate allows access to polarizing cube for change to an 10 mm cube for other wavelengths.

Models with mica 1/2 wave plates an quartz 1/2 wave plates are available.

      AIR SLIT

Series 2000 Air Slites are available from 50 to 500 micron slit width. Each slit is micro machined in a 3/8 inch diameter disc of 25 micron (.001 inch) thickness and 3 mm-6 mm in length. The tolerances are +/-5%.

What it does:
1. Splits an incident Polarized beam into two transmitted beams whose intensity ratio may be continuously varied.

2. Changes the two output beams to S polarization (perpendicular) and/or P polarization (parallel) as you wish.

Its use:
1. Used as a beam splitter in Holography for adjustable intensity ratio and fringe stability.

2. Used for precision interferometry Applications.

3. General Laser/Optical Laboratory Application.

4. Used as Laser Q-switches, but only for low power lasers.

How it works:
A rotating quartz half-wave plate(A) is placed at the incident polarized laser beam. The polarizer cube (with two pairs of right angle prisms and a multi layer dielectric firm in between) deviates the S polarized light (B) by 90o, while transmitting polarized light (C).

The half-wave plate (A) is used to rotate the polarization for S and P polarization. This controls the intensity.

The reflected and transmitted light beams from the beam-splitter cube may be changed to either S or P polarized light by rotating the half-wave plates at B and C.
