A roof prism is a 45-45-90 degree type which, instead of a flat face at
the hypotenuse, has two faces meeting at a 90 degree angle pointed out from the center of
the prism. Light rays incident normal to the entry face emerge normal to the exit
face. Images will emerge inverted. Consequently, these prisms may be used to
erect an inverted image.
