These lightweight
honeycomb breadboards
are a cost effective alternative to our solid aluminum
breadboards, they offer greater rigidity, lighter weight, and better
flatness. The tapped holes are not drilled or punched, but
fabricated in a way that effectively "thickens" the skin around
the tapped hole. This technique doubles the number of threads formed
in the top skin. The thickness of the top skin has been chosen
to provide a full 3 threads of engagement, thus ensuring that a
1/4"-20 (M6) screw will break before stripping a tapped breadboard
hole.
